Welcome to our First Annual Homebrewed Mead Competition! Mass Ren Faire has partnered with the American Homebrewers Association to bring you an official judged competition for amateur brewers!
When is this taking place?
The actual competition/tasting is taking place on July 24th. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 Restrictions, we cannot invite the public and will be asking all brewers to submit their entries ahead of time.
Mail in entries must be postmarked by July 20th.
Entries dropped off in person must arrange with Tolgy Wood Camp on a date picked in advance.
How do we submit?

–It is $7 for each submission and each brewer may submit up to three (3) entries.
–Each submission should consist of two 10-oz bottles of mead.
–Payment may be made either via check (made out to Massachusetts Renaissance Faire) or via PayPal by sending the fee directly to [email protected]
Submissions can be mailed or dropped off in person. Address and other info can be found on the sign up form (linked above).
Who will be judging?
The American Homebrewers Association will be sending certified judges to the event.
When will we know who won?
We will be announcing the winners and streaming snippets of the competition during the second Saturday of our Online Faire- August 1st.
Are there prizes?
Yes! There are prizes! We will have more information on this soon.
Will this be happening again?
We hope to make this a yearly tradition with our Ren Faire, so you can expect to have it happen next year as well. Typically the Mass Ren Faire takes place on the last weekend in July and the first weekend in August.

You must have your mead mailed to us by June 20th or arrange to drop it off at Tolgy Wood: Chesterfield Camp in Chesterfield, MA the week of the competition. Please sign up today to reserve your spot and arrange your drop off/delivery!
